Solarwinds Network Topology Mapper is another great addition to the long line of products solarwinds has been putting out lately. They've positioned themselves to be the go-to Software manufacturer in the Enterprise IT market, as well as providing quite a bit of Free products for use as well. 

Pro's –

This software package is Fully Featured and ready to go out-of-the-box, with great flexibility and tremendous Auto-Discovery and Auto-mapping capabilities. The software has the ability to automatically scan your network and associated Network devices using ICMP, SNMP, CDP, WMI and has the ability to recognize VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualized systems, along with VOIP and printing devices as well.

The software then generates very detailed and comprehensive network topology maps, diagrams and presentations from the gather information and has the ability to build multiple types of network maps from a Single scan. If changes are made on your network by utitilizing regularly scheduled scans to ensure you have up-to-date network records of changes made to your network or new devices that have been discovered on your network.

The ability to export Diagrams to multiple file formats including PNG or PDF and other programs such as Microsoft Visio and Orion Network Atlas. Visio SmartShapes are used when exporting to Microsoft Visio to properly map all devices, nodes and connections.
